
On February 1st, all PhD scholars and professors involved in the Graduate School met in Bad Herrenalb for this year’s IME Spring Colloquium.
As in the last colloquium we had parallel sessions and a discussant for each talk who was assigned in advance.
After the address of welcome we started with the presentation of our current research activities.
The first session was a plenary session with presentations by Saartje Brockmans and Steffen Lamparter, who were discussed by Heiko Schepperle and Stefan Seifert.
After lunch we continued with parallel sessions.

In the plenary room Janos Kunze and Cora Schäfer presented their advancements, while in the conference room Michael Blume and Carolina Laborde presented their work. The discussants were Yalin Gündüz, Stefan Luckner, Xin Chen and Kendra Stockmar.
In the second parallel session Yalin Gündüz and Jörn Dermietzel held their talks in parallel to Jan Krämer and Xin Chen. These talks were commented by Michael Blume, Ralf Löschel, Nicolas Gaus and Saartje Brockmans.
In the last session of the day Stefan Seifert and Stefan Luckner presented their research. They were discussed by Jonas Kunze and Cora Schäfer.
The Professor’s meeting was held before diner and afterwards we visited a nearby hotel, where we had the chance to do bowling.

The first session on Friday was a plenary session again with presentations by Kendra Stockmar and Christoph Sorge, who were discussed by Carolina Laborde and Steffen Lamparter.
The second session was a parallel session with the talks of Nicolas Gaus and Ralf Löschel (discussed by Jan Krämer and Jörn Dermietzel) in the plenary room and the talks of Moritz Killat and Heiko Schepperle in the Conference room. These talks were commented by Christoph Sorge and Moritz Killat.
After the lunch break we had time for single talks and discussions with the first and second supervisors.
The whole event was closed with an organization session where we discussed the advances in the Graduate School and the time schedule for the upcoming semester.
